Bi-color tourmaline mined in the Mogok area, Myanmar. Tourmaline only forms like this in the Mogok region. This tourmaline has an indicolite (blue) stem and a rubilite (red) mushroom like botryoidal cap / termination. I was specifically hunting for this rare variety of tourmaline in Myanmar, the country formerly known as Burma last January. This tourmaline crystal weights 5 grams.
